Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2015

On Thursday, leaders from Georgia Power joined executives from Porsche Cars North America and more than 100 local PCNA employees to recognize the automotive company for its commitment to electric vehicle (EV) workplace charging. During a special event at PCNA headquarters, Georgia Power presented PCNA with a rebate following the installation of 24 Level 2 workplace chargers at the location earlier this year. The $12,000 rebate was presented as part of Georgia Power's EV charger rebate program for business customers, which offers qualifying customers a $500 rebate for each new 240-volt Level 2 workplace charger installed.

Left to right, Latanza Adjei, vice president of sales for Georgia Power and Tim Quinn, vice president of AfterSales for Porsche Cars North America, are joined by Lisa Smith, Glenda Draper and Carl Jackson from Georgia Power at Porsche Cars North America, Inc. for workplace charging rebate presentation.

"Businesses across the state are recognizing the benefits of electric transportation by adding EVs to their corporate fleets and by making workplace charging convenient for employees who drive electric," said Latanza Adjei, vice president of sales for Georgia Power, at the event. "We would like to thank Porsche Cars North America for their commitment to workplace charging and for participating in our rebate program."

Since launching the EV charger rebate program for business customers in late 2014, Georgia Power has awarded more than 250 individual rebates to companies of all sizes.

"As we continue into the future with electrified vehicles, charging stations are becoming vital not only for our corporate offices at One Porsche Drive, but also for our customers and dealerships as part of our sales and service offerings," said Tim Quinn, vice president of AfterSales for Porsche Cars North America.

Georgia companies are providing workplace charging to meet corporate sustainability goals, empower employees to save money on fuel and maintenance costs and reduce their overall travel time and commute costs. Georgia Power is focused on assisting customers with their EV energy needs and advancing Georgia as an EV-friendly state through an ongoing public education campaign and services including public charging infrastructure, EV charger rebates and a special rate for EV customers. The company also recently rolled out dozens of plug-in electric hybrid vehicles as part of its statewide fleet.
