DeKalb Chamber to Host State of Women in Business Luncheon July 19th

The DeKalb Chamber of Commerce will host the State of Women in Business Luncheon on Thursday, July 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Mary Gay House, 716 West Trinity Place, Decatur.

The event will feature a networking lunch and keynote presentation. Nearly 80 professional women and women business owners will attend to gain knowledge, make connections relevant to their business and share expertise.

Katerina Taylor, President and CEO of the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce, will deliver the State of Women in Business Address, where she will share facts and figures about women's contributions to the growing number of businesses, jobs and revenue. Kendria Taylor, Children's Author of "The Adventures of Jax and Riley" will introduce Katerina.

During the address, Katerina will also share the types of businesses women own and the industries that are predominately male dominated. She will also discuss the importance of legitimizing your business in order to most effectively take advantage of the changing tax policies.

"As part of our Women Executive Leaders of DeKalb program, this luncheon will allow us to highlight the impact of women-owned businesses and why it's important to help these businesses succeed," said Katerina Taylor. "Women-owned businesses are helping to increase executive leadership roles for women, increase access and employ millions of people across this country."
