BIO International is the world’s largest biotechnology gathering. The BIO Exhibition allows exhibitors to reach high-level executives and influential decision makers who come to BIO to discover new players in the industry, form partnerships and evaluate emerging technologies.

The 2015 BIO International Convention was held from June 15-18, and featured more than 1,700 exhibitors and approximately 160,000 square feet. The exhibition also includes 60+ state, regional and country pavilions who in turn host many companies from their regions.

The state of Georgia is no stranger to the BIO International Conference. For more than 5 years, Georgia has exhibited at the trade show, which is held in a new city each year. In years past, the state of Georgia has been the title sponsor, hosting a welcome reception that left conference-goers stopping by the pavilion to comment on a job well done for days. This year, the state took a new approach. Instead of a welcome reception, we opted instead, to go with an in-booth reception that all conference-goers had access to. This provided the unique opportunity for attendees to connect with the many Georgia representatives and to learn more about the state’s booming life science industry. With over 16 different companies, organizations and universities in the pavilion, the Bioscience industry in Georgia was well covered.

One organization in particular, was Georgia’s Innovation Crescent. Georgia’s Innovation Crescent is both a geographic area and a coalition of more than 15 counties and economic development entities all dedicated to supporting Georgia’s life science and technology growth. It boasts top research organizations such as the Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Georgia and Georgia State University; teaching institutions including Emory University and Morehouse School of Medicine, government entities and non-profits like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention-all of which exhibited in the Georgia pavilion at BIO International this year.
