The 2015 Georgia National Fair shattered attendance records coming in as the new top Fair with 501,628 guests throughout October 8-18. The total attendance grew 10 percent over the previous Fair in 2014, which held the second highest on record hosting 456,023. The previous number one record Fair took place in 2010 with an attendance of 465,053.

Organizers attribute the increase to a combination of weather, planning, and leadership. Georgia Agricultural Exposition Authority Executive Director, Randy Moore, explains "We were blessed with excellent weather conditions for the run of the Fair. Good weather usually prompts our patrons to visit and enjoy the event with some coming multiple times throughout the 11 days. We also experienced a unique situation with Columbus Day falling during the event. The combination of the holiday falling on the Fair's Patriotic Day led to a crowd as large as a typical Saturday. A new Monday record was set with 42,361 visitors which was a 10 percent increase in the previous record from 2010."

The Georgia National Fair staff made every effort to create entertainment and attractions which would be pleasing to visitors coming from all areas of the state. Mr. Moore states, "All aspects of Georgia are celebrated during the Fair. The Fair showcases livestock competitions, the Georgia Living program, and the traditional components such as the midway food and rides offering entertainment and attractions for all interests. We pride ourselves on the value offered as well. Once the fairgoer enters the gates they experience over $600,000 of free concerts, exhibits, and shows."

New for the 26th Fair was the addition of a fourth free concert. "The free concerts have become extremely popular over the past several years. Our goal going into this Fair was to reach half a million in attendance, and hosting these concerts has assisted us in achieving the goal," said Mr. Moore. Since the Georgia National Fair is the official state sponsored fair for Georgia, Governor Deal, Commissioner Gary Black and the Georgia Agricultural Exposition Authority has a large leadership role in the ultimate shape each Fair takes. Mr. Moore explains, "Governor Nathan Deal, the Department of Agriculture and Commissioner Gary Black, as well as the members of the Authority, deserve due credit for providing excellent guidance and support to each department which resulted in a seamless and successful Fair."

In the end the production and execution is a total team effort. Mr. Moore elaborates, "The public experiences the product of hundreds of individuals working together to provide a fun, safe, memorable experience. We are honored to be able to provide the State of Georgia with such a fantastic avenue to celebrate what makes us unique as well as experience 11 days of family fun".
