Obama Vetoes Defense Bill with $90M for Georgia's Fort Gordon
Monday, October 26th, 2015
The sweeping defense spending bill vetoed Thursday by President Barack Obama in a rare public veto ceremony includes $90 million to build a new Army Cyber Command headquarters at Fort Gordon.
Obama does not like parts of the $612 billion defense bill, including that it would add $38 billion to a separate war account not subject to spending caps and there are provisions in the bill that would make it harder for Obama to close the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, reports The Augusta Chronicle.
