The Atlanta Commercial Board of REALTORS recently held its 2nd annual Commercial Real Estate Studio at the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, featuring Steve Selig, CEO of Selig Enterprises and moderated by son, Scott Selig, Vice President of Selig Enterprises.

Selig, a 42 year veteran of the commercial real estate industry, is responsible for many notable developments that have changed the face of Atlanta, such as Brookwood Place, The District of Howell Mill, Ansley Mall, The Plaza Midtown and Buckhead Square shopping center. Outside of real estate, Selig has been a pillar of the Atlanta community in civic, philanthropic and religious affairs.

When speaking about his many professional accomplishments, Selig acknowledges, “It is much easier to cross home plate when you are born on second base. My grandfather Ben Massell was responsible for starting Atlanta’s skyline.” He also spoke candidly of the many obstacles he has faced in both his personal and professional life because of his Jewish faith.

When asked what is most important to him, he stated in order, “family, friends, faith, business and community.” His son, Steve Selig knows that expectations are high for him in regards to filling his father’s shoes. He added, “Some shoes are meant to just sit on a shelf and be admired.”
