Gov. Nathan Deal announced the appointment of the Honorable William “Billy” Sparks as Superior Court Judge of the Rome Judicial Circuit. Sparks will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of the Honorable Walter Matthews. The appointment will take effect upon swearing in.

Sparks is a solo practitioner at his firm, William F. Sparks, Attorney at Law, in Rome. He earned a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Jeanne, have two children and reside in Rome.
