The third annual Jeff Galloway Race Weekend wrapped up on Sunday December 11th, 2016 with close to 3000 participants taking part in the stellar 13.1 Jeff Galloway Half Marathon, Barb’s 5K, and the Kids Fun Run.

All 3 races, and the 2–day expo, at the new Westin Peachtree location in downtown Atlanta, were a great success.

The expo and the Jeff Galloway speaker series, held also at the Westin location, drew participants and visitors alike, to check out novelties from running gear providers and hear race legends speak about “then and now”.

The third year of the Jeff Galloway Race Weekend saw sunny weather with cooler temperatures, which provided ideal race conditions.

The organizers and all sponsoring partners went out of their way to make participants and spectators alike feel welcome by providing a fun and positive athletic environment.

New and added partners / sponsors, delighted runners and walkers at the finish line with “refuel options” ranging from muffins by Sweet Tomatoes in Atlanta, Cheese from CABOT, Coffee by Blue Donkey Coffee, warm oatmeal by Savannah Oatmeal Company; Refuel drinks came from Muscle Milk, Suja Juice and Accelerate, in addition to water provided by Crystal Springs.

Hundreds of volunteers supported the runners each day of the event and went above and beyond to make locals and out of towners, who came from nearly all 50 states, welcome in the festive holiday atmosphere of the race events.

The Jeff Galloway Race Weekend presented the opportunity for a large variety of runners, from young children to mature adults, to participate and be part of running legends and 1972 Olympian Jeff Galloway’s signature hometown event in Atlanta.

The beautiful course highlights some of Atlanta’s most historical landmarks. Runners start in Midtown Atlanta, traveling parallel to the M.L.K. historical site, and wind through the Freedom Parkway Trail by the Carter Center. The focus of the race is the finish at Piedmont Park. Results of all races can be found at: https://jeffgalloway131.com/race-history/.
