Alliance Tire Group has opened a warehouse in Savannah to shore up distribution of its products throughout the Southeast. The new warehouse also will replace a smaller facility in Memphis that due to close this year.

The 220,000-sq.-ft. location is situated near the Port of Savannah and is close to many of ATG's OE and replacement tire customers, according to John Mancinelli, vice president of operations for Alliance Tire Americas.

"…Our new warehouse was specifically outfitted and situated to reflect lessons learned from years of serving customers in the tire business around the world," Mancinelli said. "With our new location, streamlined systems and configurable layout, we will be able to get tires to our customers more quickly and efficiently than ever."

The purpose-built facility is designed to permit high-efficiency operations such as cross-docking and enhanced put-away systems, Mancinelli added. The facility opens with a nine-person staff, which draws on decades of experience in top logistical operations, including FedEx and the U.S. military.

The Savannah warehouse will handle the company's Alliance, Galaxy and Primex OTR tires as well as ATG's new Constellation truck tire brand.
