Winter Construction has broken ground on a new hotel in Midtown Atlanta. The hotel by Marriott is dual branded as AC Hotel and Moxy Hotel. The Moxy, designed for millennials, will be Marriott’s new brand debut in Georgia. Noble Investment Group is the developer.

Winter Construction is building the new hotel on 14th Street between Peachtree Street and West Peachtree Street. The Moxy will include 155 rooms, and the AC Hotel will include 133 rooms. The building’s total area will be 266,000 square feet, and it will include several levels of parking.

Brent Reid, Winter Construction’s CEO, said, “We have really enjoyed building in Midtown Atlanta, which is such an innovative and culturally important place in our City. We are thrilled to continue building here with such an exciting new hotel.” Winter is currently moving toward completion of a high-rise apartment building two blocks east of the AC Hotel/Moxy Hotel project site.

Carlos Asensio, of Noble Investment, said the new AC Hotel/Moxy Hotel will add personality to the Midtown neighborhood. “We look forward to working with Winter on this project. The AC and Moxy brands will uniquely satisfy the needs of the creative and innovative people who are making Midtown Atlanta great.” The American Planning Association recently named the Midtown neighborhood one of its “Great Places In America” for demonstrating exceptional character, quality, and planning.

Cooper Carry is the architect for the project. Winter and Cooper Carry collaborated on the AC Hotel Buckhead that opened last year next to Phipps Plaza.
