The Asian American Resource Center received a $20,000 grant from The UPS Foundation, which drives global corporate citizenship and philanthropic programs for UPS.

The grant supports AARC’s Rapid Re-Housing Program, which provides housing assistance along with supportive services like customized case management and educational/vocational opportunities to homeless mothers with children to help them obtain permanent housing, gain marketable skills and achieve greater self-determination. The program, in short, offers a long-term solution to homeless communities.

“No one accomplishes anything great alone, so we are blessed to carry out our mission of empowering homeless families with the generous support of The UPS Foundation,” said Connie Jee, Executive Director of AARC. “We look forward to improving our services and increasing our reach.”

Founded in 1997 by Reverend Dr. Henry Jee, The Asian American Resource Center addressed the needs of the struggling immigrant community in Georgia at the time, providing a myriad of cultural, linguistic and social services. AARC has widened its reach since then, and today offers its housing, educational and referral services to all. More information on AARC can be found on the web at aarcatl.org/.

“The UPS Foundation is honored to support The Asian American Resource Center’s efforts to empower and strengthen all communities in a way that enhances self-sufficiency and quality of life,” said Eduardo Martinez, president of The UPS Foundation and chief diversity and inclusion officer at UPS. “Our goal is to fund powerful programs that make a lasting difference to the global community.”
