Herzing University Announces New Atlanta Campus President

Herzing University announced the appointment of Chris Chavez as president of the Atlanta campus. Chavez is a skilled community-minded leader with 13 years of experience in higher education.
With an extensive background in academic operations management, admissions and student support, Chavez will oversee and implement initiatives designed to enhance student experience, retention and graduation outcomes. He will also work to strengthen Herzing's relationships with businesses, healthcare providers and community organizations in and around Atlanta.
"I look forward to helping Herzing students pursue their academic and career goals and helping them discover new possibilities for career advancement through deeper relationships with Atlanta-area employers," Chavez said. "It's especially important for us to engage business leaders and other community stakeholders to develop educational and professional opportunities for students that allow them to be successful."
Chavez previously served on the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce Board of Advisors and the board of the Technology Association of Georgia Education Collaborative.
Prior to joining Herzing, Chavez served as Atlanta Metro President for one of the largest degree granting university systems in North America, guiding multi-campus initiatives that both increased enrollment and improved access to education for students in the Atlanta area.
Chavez earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology and a Master of Science in Industrial Management at Northern Illinois University.
Herzing's Atlanta campus offers degree programs in nursing, healthcare, technology, public safety and business. Students learn in a modern facility with state-of-the-industry labs, career-focused curriculum and caring faculty and staff.
