Mobility Worldwide, an international charitable enterprise that builds specialized wheelchair-carts for those living in the developing world, has officially established a presence in the Atlanta area with the constitution of a local board of trustees on Saturday, May 6th. One of the first actions that took place was the election of Cary Loesing as the Chair of the initial board of trustees. Loesing is the immediate past president of the North GA United Methodist Men’s Ministry and has helped to distribute many of the Mobility Carts to people in need during missionary trips to Haiti.

“I have seen first-hand the life changing effect Mobility Carts have on individuals, their families and communities and I wish to bring that experience to even more deserving people through my involvement in the establishment of an operation in the Atlanta market,” said Loesing. “It’s especially exciting from the standpoint that we are starting this important endeavor in the Atlanta market which has become a world center of influence in humanitarian aid and health.”

Loesing’s election follows Mobility Worldwide’s recent announcement of its addition of Dr. Brad Fain, a principal research scientist at the Georgia Tech Research Institute, to lead its research and development initiative as it investigates new wheelchair cart designs. The specialized wheelchairs are ideal for those who lost limbs in land mines or who cannot walk due to birth defects or disease.

“We are overjoyed that Cary Loesing has agreed to lead our efforts to establish an efficient manufacturing presence in north Georgia,” Scott Walters, Mobility Worldwide Executive Director stated. “We are confident that under his leadership, a superior board of directors and leadership team will be moving forward to help provide mobility and more to many deserving people,” he said.
