The Economy Committee of the Fayette Visioning Initiative and the Fayette Chamber of Commerce announced a new program to foster startup businesses. Called StartUp Fayette, the program aims to bring together high-tech, creatives, makers and other innovative/non-traditional business on the southside region of Metro Atlanta. The group’s inaugural event, Fifth Thursday, will be held Thursday, June 29 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Crosstown Grill in Peachtree City.

“While there are natural communities to support traditional businesses locally, we wanted to build a support community for the innovators and makers in our area,” says Jeremy Anderson, CEO of Overwatch Technology and chair of StartUp Fayette. “We are excited to create this program so that we can learn from one another. Fayette wants to retain these entrepreneurs to diversify and strengthen our economy and provide homegrown jobs.”

In addition to networking, the inaugural Fifth Thursday event will feature a short presentation by Trey Roth, founder of Yaystack, sharing his experience in building startups in the South. Those interested in becoming part of StartUp Fayette can register for the Fifth Thursday event online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/fifth-thursday-tickets-34802702821.
