Students and teachers at Georgia Cyber Academy, an accredited, full-time online public charter school program, head back to the virtual classroom on Aug. 14th. A statewide school available to students in grades K-12, GCA offers students a rigorous and engaging curriculum.

GCA offers a unique opportunity for students to find an academic setting that is right for them, no matter their needs. “Students enroll at GCA for a variety of reasons,” says middle school assistant principal Michelle Blackwell. “Thanks to the flexibility of online learning, we can support their unique needs.”

Georgia state-licensed teachers facilitate online classes for students from across the state, and are also able to provide one-on-one support to students and their families through email, phone and face-to-face gatherings. Regular school outings to museums, parks, and other educational sites foster connections within the GCA community.

“I enjoy working at an online school,” says academic advisor Wendy Oleksinski. “Not only does GCA offer the innovative use of technology, it also offers a rigorous curriculum and additional layers of family support when needed.”

Students across all grade levels take the core subjects of language arts, math, science, and history, as well as additional offerings in appropriate grade levels, such as music, art, world languages and physical education. High school students have access to a robust catalogue of core and elective courses, and can further set themselves apart by earning both high school and college credits through dual enrollment at a network of over 70 colleges statewide.
