The Krystal Company Appoints Michael Wood Chief Real Estate Officer

The Krystal Company announced that it has appointed Michael Wood as Chief Real Estate Officer, effective immediately. Most recently with Brixmor Property Group, Wood brings over 25 years of experience to his new role at Krystal.

"Mike is a seasoned real estate development executive with a proven track record in hundreds of millions of dollars in commercial land use, particularly with planning, design, and construction of restaurant and entertainment platforms," said Omar Janjua, President and CEO for The Krystal Company. "His expertise in asset growth planning and in developing cost-effective and guest-appealing projects that work for the long term uniquely positions him to manage the company's real estate portfolio as we begin our next 85 years." 

As Chief Real Estate Officer, Wood will be responsible for managing the company's real estate portfolio, stewarding the development strategy and leading the Company's reimaging approach for existing legacy locations.

For more than twenty years, Wood has served in a number of roles at Brixmor Property Group, most recently as Executive Vice President, Re/Development. Wood's previous roles at Brixmor included Vice President, Construction for the South region and Director of Construction for Texas. Prior to Brixmor, he held several other real estate-related roles.  In addition to Wood's industry experience, he also holds the Certified Development, Design, and Construction Professional credential from the International Council of Shopping Centers.
