Gas South is partnering with the City of Milton, Georgia to provide residents and businesses a two cent per therm discount on any rate plan. New residential and business customers from the City of Milton do not have to pay a deposit, their connection fee is waived and if they enroll online, they will receive a bill credit.
"We're excited to join other Georgia cities in partnering with Gas South to provide our residents with discounts on their natural gas," said Mayor Joe Lockwood. "This is a great example of how consumer choice and public/private partnerships can both work to benefit the community."
Gas South has similar partnerships with 13 municipalities, five electric membership corporations and two county partners throughout the state of Georgia. The City of Milton is the eighth city or jurisdiction in Fulton County to partner with Gas South, joining Buckhead (via the Buckhead Coalition), College Park, Fairburn, Hapeville, Roswell, Sandy Springs and Union City. Since 2006, the program has helped tens of thousands of customers save $13 million.
"With a population of about 38,000, the City of Milton strives to provide residents with tools to increase quality of life," said Kevin Greiner, president and CEO of Gas South. "This partnership is just one example of how we're working together to help residents save money. We take pride in taking care of customers in the cities where we do business."
