ULI Atlanta recently hosted the 23rd annual ULI Awards for Excellence program, recognizing the real estate developments and initiatives that celebrate the communities we build. The distinguished award ceremony brought more than 420 leaders from all avenues of the real estate development industry together to honor the Southeast’s most impactful projects.

This year’s winners include: The Frank Carter Community Achievement Award, Jerry Cooper, chairman and principal of Cooper Carry; Dan & Tally Sweat Community Leadership Award, Marcia Bansley, former executive director of Trees Atlanta; Project of the Year, FlatIron City; Development of Excellence Award, Parsons Alley; Social Innovation Award, Soccer in the Streets; Building Healthy Places, Relay Bike Share.

“As we see Atlanta grow, it’s important for the leaders in the real estate development community to continue to create projects and initiatives that further enhance the city’s sustainability efforts,” said ULI Chairman Bob Voyles. “This year’s competition was a true testament to the industry’s devotion to ULI’s mission.”

The theme of this year’s award ceremony, “The Lovable City,” reflected the continued efforts to create, maintain and preserve the developments and built environment that make Atlanta unique and was reflected in the various awards presented throughout the night. The awards recognized each stage of project development – construction, economic viability, marketing, management and design.

“This year’s award theme, The Lovable City, celebrates the people, projects and places we love in Atlanta,” said Amanda Rhein, ULI Atlanta Awards Dinner Chair. “Through these initiatives, the winners and all those who submitted for an award are attracting others to our city and making it better for current residents.”

The ULI Atlanta Awards for Excellence was held at the Fox Theatre on Sept. 14.
