1,000 Women Help Homeless Shelter with Donation Drive

Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO

Monday, November 13th, 2017

My Sister’s House provides a safe haven for up to 264 women and children in Atlanta every month, and its mission is well aligned with Younique, a beauty company from Lehi, Utah, with over 850,000 global distributors, called Presenters. While 1,000 Younique Presenters were in Atlanta, Georgia, on Saturday, November 4 for a sales training event, the highlight of the day was the donation drive held to benefit the homeless shelter. The women demonstrated immense generosity by bringing hundreds of diapers, handmade toiletry kits and more to donate. Some travelled across the country with donations in hand to prove their commitment to their company’s mission of uplifting, empowering, and validating women around the world.

The donations that will benefit My Sister’s House for at least six months stacked wide in front of the #StrengthofY emblem, a brand of good created by the organization to show the power of their Presenters and their commitment to women in all circumstances. Corporate-driven donations are only one facet of the initiative, from deploying for natural-disaster relief to fundraising for breast cancer awareness, Younique Presenters have been on the scene.

This dedication to women’s well-being stems from The Younique Foundation which helps survivors of childhood sexual abuse find hope and healing and bring the epidemic to light through education, the purpose behind the entire organization and a cause dear to the Founder’s heart. The Haven Retreat has helped close to 1,500 women since 2014, a free therapeutic retreat for survivors with a high success rate.
