Committed to giving back to its community, Chime Solutions held its first 5K race to support homelessness in the area. The domestic-based customer-contact service provider partnered with Calvary Refuge Center to donate all race proceeds.
Calvary Refuge, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides emergency and transitional housing and food for homeless individuals and families in need. Through its Transitional and Emergency Housing programs, Calvary Refuge Center has helped thousands of homeless adults and children in need.
The official race route started and finished in Lee Street Park. Attendees were supported by volunteer cheerleaders, a live DJ and local vendors. All participants received a race backpack filled by event sponsors and a complimentary event T-shirt. Local policemen and first responders were on site to assist race participants along the route.
"Earlier this year, we had a vision of putting together a 5K to give back to Clayton County," explained Chime Solutions Chief of Staff, Lauren Wilson. "We are excited to see our vision come to fruition and meeting our fundraising goal has been a big first year accomplishment."
Clayton County Chairman, Jeffrey E. Turner and City Manager for the City of Jonesboro, Ricky L Clark Jr., came out to support the cause. Race sponsors included SCR Consulting, LLC, Cousins Maine Lobster, Kaiser Permanente, The Gathering Spot, Combined Insurance, The Wilson Family, The Szlam Family, Kia and The Joint Chiropractic.
Just a few months ago, Chime Solutions added over 1,000 new jobs to the county as well. It continues to expand and give back, expressing a passion for people. Wilson said that they also plan to continue the giving by providing 200 employees with full thanksgiving dinners this month.
