One of only two charter schools approved by the Georgia State Charter School Commission for the 2017 cycle at its meeting on August 30^th, SLAM! Academy of Atlanta is excited to announce that it will be opening its doors to the children in the Atlanta Public Schools attendance zone for the 2018 – 2019 school year. By choosing SLAM! students will experience, "Sports infused lessons that develop Lifelong learners who consistently pursue Academic and personal excellence and are Motivated to become future world changers." 

In its first year SLAM! will welcome students to enroll in grades K-3.  Throughout all grade levels, sports themes are incorporated into the curriculum to captivate students and help nurture their natural curiosity and love for learning by helping them better connect and comprehend course work. SLAM! Academy's mission is to provide an engaging, challenging and supportive learning environment so every student can "SLAM it out of the park" both in and out of the classroom. We feel the unique nature of the program and the access to a large network of professionals in education and the sports industry are providing our students with opportunities they may not have had otherwise. The national SLAM! Foundation, which oversees all SLAM! schools, alongside a local governing board comprised of professionals in the fields of education, finance, law, business and operations, and community relations will provide oversight for SLAM! Academy of Atlanta. Their goal will is to ensure the school reaches its full potential as an educational institution providing the highest quality education possible to students in the APS attendance zone. SLAM! Academy of Atlanta will be the newest addition to the SLAM! family that already includes four campuses in the state of Florida (Miami, North Miami Beach, Tampa and West Palm Beach) as well as schools located in San Antonio, Texas and Las Vegas, Nevada. The SLAM! Academy charter school model is supported by Grammy Award winning music artist Pitbull.

For the 2018-2019 school year, SLAM! Academy of Atlanta will enroll students in kindergarten through 3^rd grade with plans to serve grades K-7 during the first charter term and grades K-12 at full capacity. SLAM! Academy of Atlanta is currently seeking to hire a highly motivated and experienced school leader to successfully establish this innovative educational option.
