Studio Movie Grill Opening in Marietta on November 16th

Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO

Monday, November 13th, 2017

Studio Movie Grill will expand its metro Atlanta footprint with a new location in Marietta opening on Nov. 16 at 40 Powers Ferry Road in Marietta. It will feature 11 screens.

It is the third property to open in Georgia and the 29th SMG location nationwide.

Guests may reserve their seats and purchase their tickets online. Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed with a spacious lounge and access to a premium bar. In theater, there is an upscale and extensive menu available at a push of a button from luxury recliners. Distinctive to the SMG Marietta complex, guests may choose to relax pre-or post-show in the outdoor patio with a full service bar.

The decision to expand in metro Atlanta was easy for SMG’s owner Brian Schultz.

“Cobb County is experiencing an economic resurgence and this center, anchored by SMG Marietta, is destined to become the melting pot for entertainment, pop culture and great food,” said Schultz.

This location will also participate in SMG’s nationwide initiatives — Special Needs Screenings and Chefs for Children program where proceeds from select menu items support local nonprofits that serve special needs children and their families.

“We are thrilled that Studio Movie Grill has chosen to expand and now have a location within the city of Marietta,” said Marietta Mayor Steve Tumlin. “Studio Movie Grill will be the first business in the City to provide moviegoers this type of dine-in experience. Serving not only as a hub for entertainment, this facility will be seen as a positive impact on the community by providing over 200 jobs at this location.”

In preparation for the opening, SMG is looking to hire 200-plus people. Bartenders, servers, runners, hosts, box office agents and kitchen staff can apply at www.studiomoviegrill.com or in person at the temporary hiring space at 70 Powers Ferry Road, Suite A10 in Marietta.

Established in 2000, SMG modernized the traditional movie-going experience by combining first-run movies with full-service, in-theater dining. It has grown to 30 locations in nine states by the end of 2017 with further expansion planned in 2018.

It was named to Inc. magazine’s list of Fastest Growing Private Companies two years in a row.
