APS Superintendent Recommends Skye Duckett for Chief Human Resources Officer as Pam Hall Announces Departure

Atlanta Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Meria Carstarphen is recommending to the Atlanta Board of Education the appointment of Skye Duckett to the position of Chief Human Resources Officer effective January 1, 2018.
 
Current APS Chief Human Resources Officer, Pam Hall, who served in this role for the past three-and-a-half years and has enjoyed a 40-year career in education, has announced her resignation effective December 31, 2017. She is leaving to address critical family obligations.
 
“APS wishes Pam Hall all the best, and we are so thankful for her outstanding leadership, her commitment to our District and for her successful efforts to attract the best and brightest talent to join our APS team.  Pam’s leadership in human resources has been instrumental for APS’ transformation,” said Dr. Carstarphen.
 
Skye Duckett has been serving in the role of Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer at APS since 2014.   “With the appointment of Skye Duckett to the role of Chief Human Resources Officer, I am excited to be able to continue APS’ important work in this area. Skye is very qualified and talented, and we look forward to her leadership in this role,”  Dr. Carstarphen added.
 
Duckett holds a Master of Science degree in management from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree in administrative leadership. Prior to joining APS as the Deputy CHRO, she was the Assistant Director of Administrative Staffing at Austin Independent School District in Austin, Texas, severing 86,000 students and 12,000 employees. She has also worked as the Director of Human Resources and Employee Benefits at Texarkana Independent School District in Texarkana, Texas.
