Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO

Tuesday, January 30th, 2018

Allegro Senior Living is pleased to welcome three new properties to its portfolio. These communities are in Alpharetta, Buckhead, and Marietta, Georgia.  Allegro formed a joint venture with Artemis Real Estate Partners (“Artemis”) to acquire the properties and Allegro will be responsible for the day-to-day operations. With more than 45 years of experience in ownership, operations, development, and property management, Allegro is a well-respected leader in the senior living industry. These communities will be the first group of properties in Georgia for the senior living company.

Each community will adopt Allegro’s new brand, Alto Senior Living. The Alto brand represents distinctive assisted living and memory care communities under Allegro Senior Living. The name also carries on the company’s musical brand, as "allegro" is a musical term meaning a lively tempo. In addition to serving as a musical term, Alto represents an expectation of high standards. Alto, in Italian, means “high” as in high living, high expectations and high service.  These principles are engrained in the brand and culture founded by Allegro. More information on Alto communities can be found at www.altoseniorliving.com.

Alpharetta was built, in 1999, with 72 units consisting of assisted living and memory care.  Buckhead was built, in 2000, with 68 units consisting of assisted living and memory care.  Marietta was built, in 1998, with 55 units consisting of assisted living and memory care.  These communities have a reputation for their warm and inviting atmospheres, with attentive and caring associates.

“We’re honored to work with Artemis and make our entrance into the Atlanta market,” said Douglas Schiffer, the president and COO of Allegro. “Alto communities will operate with Allegro’s culture of excellence. This culture is defined by our core values of honesty and compassion.”

“We’re excited to partner with Allegro on this opportunity,” said Kelly Sheehy, Managing Director of Artemis.

Operational plans for health and wellness, dining and activities are being discussed with the intent to improve the quality of living for current and future residents. Plans for renovations are also underway to modernize and revitalize these communities.
