Atlanta Hawks to Break Ground on Arena for G League

The City of College Park, the Georgia International Convention Center and the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club will host a multipurpose arena press conference and groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, January 30, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Georgia International Convention Center. College Park Mayor Jack Longino, Atlanta Hawks Principal Owner and Chair Tony Ressler, NBA G League President Malcolm Turner and notable arena stakeholders will celebrate the commencement of construction and first renderings of the arena and the unveiling of the official arena name.

This arena will be the future home of the Atlanta Hawks G League team, the first ever Hawks development team in their home state. The arena, which holds 100,000 square feet of space, will significantly impact the community through job creation and economic development and will broaden the entertainment quality of life in the area with sporting events, concerts, conventions and more. The arena will total at 5,000 seats, holding 3,500 seats for G League basketball games.
