Chick-fil-A Opening Jan. 18: Going Back to Founder’s Roots

Wednesday, January 17th, 2018

Local Chick-fil-A® restaurant owner Quincy Springs hopes everyone in the community will visit Chick-fil-A at Vine City when it opens on Thursday, Jan 18. The Vine City restaurant represents a significant milestone for Chick-fil-A, with investment into a historic part of the city that was also the childhood home of founder S. Truett Cathy. The restaurant, located at 875 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, is the most tangible in a series of investments Chick-fil-A and its philanthropic Chick-fil-A Foundation have made in Atlanta’s Historic Westside community, and one of the many public and private investments in the revitalization of the area.

The Chick-fil-A First 100

To celebrate its Grand Opening, the Vine City restaurant will host Chick-fil-A’s signature First 100 campout. The celebration will transform the restaurant parking lot into a family-friendly campout and will award a year’s worth of free Chick-fil-A to 100 local residents. The 24-hour party will begin at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17 and end at 6 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18 as guests hope to be one of the first 100 guests through the door to win free Chick-fil-A meals for a year. This community event is open to guests residing in specific zip codes surrounding the restaurant. A complete listing of eligible zip codes and rules can be found at www.chick-fil-a.com/Locations/Openings.

Unique to this restaurant, the celebration will include a community service component in partnership with the @Promise Youth & Community Center. First 100 participants will have the opportunity to interact with local students and will learn about additional volunteer opportunities available in the area. Additionally, leaders from numerous Atlanta companies, organizations and elected posts will take part in the service project and campout to further demonstrate citywide commitment to revitalizing the Westside neighborhood.

Premium Ingredients and Fresh, Handmade Food

Nearly everything on the Chick-fil-A menu is made from scratch daily, including salads made from fresh vegetables and fruits that are hand-chopped throughout the day. The lemonade is fresh-squeezed and is made from three simple ingredients: lemon, sugar and water. Like all Chick-fil-A restaurants, the chicken served in Vine City will be 100 percent whole breast meat, without any fillers, hormones or additives. Each chicken breast is hand-breaded to order and pressure cooked in 100 percent refined peanut oil, which is naturally trans-fat- and cholesterol-free. By the end of 2019, every Chick-fil-A restaurant will serve chicken raised without antibiotics.
