The Savannah College of Art and Design shared its newest book, SCAD: The Architecture of a University, with art, design and fashion industry friends yesterday evening at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. Paula Wallace, president and founder of SCAD, and Caroline Baumann, director of the Cooper Hewitt, addressed attendees at the event.

SCAD: The Architecture of a University, an exquisite 360-page volume published by Assouline, is complete with more than 200 archival and beautifully styled photographs and includes editorial contributions from Wallace, interior designer and SCAD alumnus Chuck Chewning, and Margaret Russell, editor-in-chief for Galerie and honorary dean of the SCAD School of Building Arts.

In addition to Chewning and Russell, several luminaries from the art and design world, including Assouline co-founder Martine Assouline, Dakota Jackson, Jonathan Becker, Mimi Plange and Carl Magnusson, were in attendance at Thursday's event. Many prominent SCAD alumni, including artist José Parlá, fashion designer Azède Jean-Pierre and director of preservation Jared Knowles joined the celebration as well.
