Atlanta Fed Names Blythe Vice President and Barton Assistant Vice President

Kim Blythe has been promoted to vice president of human resources and Pam Barton has been promoted to assistant vice president in HR, announced Raphael Bostic, president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.

Blythe joined the Atlanta Fed's HR department in 1996 as a compensation analyst. She became compensation manager in 2002, and in that role led a District project to implement the market-based compensation program. She was promoted to business liaison in 2006.

Blythe was promoted to assistant vice president in 2011. She has most recently led organizational development, administration and compliance, compensation, benefits, wellness, and remote HR services. Over her career, she has served on various District and Federal Reserve System committees, and as cochair of the System HR Process and Technology Group.

Before joining the Atlanta Fed, Blythe worked for the State of Georgia and Emory University, both times in the compensation field. She earned a bachelor's degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Blythe also maintains her designation as a certified compensation professional and is a member of the Georgia State University Human Resources Executive RoundTable.

Barton joined the Atlanta Fed in June 2012 as an organizational development consultant and was promoted to director six months later. In this role, she served as the lead for the multiyear performance management initiative efforts, which refined critical Bank processes. Before joining the Atlanta Fed, Barton worked for nearly 20 years at the Bank of America, where she held roles in audit and human resources, most recently as a senior leadership development consultant.

Barton earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Clark Atlanta University, and has completed graduate-level studies in HR management from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University. She holds the designation of senior certified professional from the Society for Human Resource Management and the certification of senior professional in human resources from the HR Certification Institute.
