Friday, February 9th, 2018

The Atlanta Women’s Foundation announces Inspire Atlanta, a new leadership program for professional women looking to ignite their passion to create positive change for women in Atlanta. This half-year program will introduce participants to corporate and civic leaders, connect them with other women professionals, develop their philanthropic skills and explore critical issues facing women and girls locally. Applications for the inaugural class are being accepted until February 11, 2018, at atlantawomen.org.

“The goal of this program is to develop the next generation of women leaders and philanthropist in Atlanta,” said AWF CEO Kari B. Love, “We’re tapping into the energy and passion these women have to not only make a difference in our community, but inspire others around them to do the same.”

Inspire Atlanta will focus on three main areas – personal development, leadership development and philanthropic development. Participants will attend events such as customized board and fundraising trainings, a poverty simulation experience, a day of service, and conversations with corporate, civic and community leaders. They will also take part in a fundraising campaign in support of AWF. Orientation for accepted applicants will take place on Thursday, March 8, 2018, with keynote speaker Lisa Borders, President, WNBA.

The program is comprised of two different levels to choose between and every applicant self-selects to which level she is applying. Level One is geared towards women who are beginning to develop their leadership and philanthropic skills. Level Two is for women who already have experience in leadership, fundraising and/or board service.
