During the Georgia Municipal Association's annual Mayors' Day conference held on Jan. 21 in Atlanta, three Peachtree Corners councilmembers earned GMA certificates. Councilmembers Phil Sadd, Eric Christ and Lorri Christopher were recognized.

Phil Sadd (Post 1), received the prestigious Certificate of Excellence from the Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute, a cooperative effort of Georgia Municipal Association, which provides a nationally recognized series of training opportunities for city officials. The training program consists of a series of more than 60 courses. To earn the certificate, a city official must complete a minimum of 120 units of credit, including at least 54 hours from a list of required classes.

Eric Christ (Post 2), received the prestigious Certificate of Recognition from the Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute, a cooperative effort of GMA and the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government, that provides a nationally recognized series of training opportunities for city officials. To receive the certificate, a city official must complete a minimum of 42 units of credit, including at least 18 hours from a list of required classes. The training program consists of a series of more than 60 courses.

Lorri Christopher (Post 5), was the recipient of the Certificate of Distinction award from the Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute, a cooperative effort of GMA and the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government. She was one of 14 city officials to receive the Certificate of Distinction at the conference. The two training institutes provides a nationally recognized series of training opportunities for elected city officials. To receive the certificate, a city official must complete a minimum of 204 units of credit, including at least 72 hours from a required list of courses and the Robert E. Knox, Jr. Municipal Leadership Institute. The training program consists of a series of more than 60 courses.

“These are outstanding achievements,” said GMA Executive Director Larry Hanson. “We commend Councilmembers Sadd, Christ and Christopher for their accomplishments and for the dedication they have shown in using these valuable resources to become more effective city officials.”
