Monday, April 16th, 2018
The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership (ABP) is pleased to announce the grand opening of the Atlanta BeltLine Center on April 28th. Located in ABP’s Stoveworks offices with direct access to the Eastside Trail, the Center, funded by private philanthropy, will be a place where people can learn about the Atlanta BeltLine through exhibits, interactive displays and programs that highlight the project’s history, scope and impact. The Center will also offer guests an opportunity to purchase official Atlanta BeltLine merchandise and make donations to support this transformative project and ABP’s programming.
“The Atlanta BeltLine Center will support the Partnership’s mission to fundraise, program and advocate for the BeltLine by providing a space to communicate the incredible story and vision for the 22-mile corridor of trails, public transit, surrounding parks, affordable housing and community connectivity,” said Rob Brawner, ABP’s executive director.
Dallas Clement, chairman of ABP’s Board of Directors, said, “The Atlanta BeltLine is for everyone, and the new Atlanta BeltLine Center will be a place that helps to create a base of enthusiasm and ownership in the community. Visitors of all ages will be able to come here and learn about how this one-of-a-kind project has evolved and helped shape our city.”
“The Atlanta BeltLine Center will allow people to learn how infrastructure can be a catalyst for economic growth and revitalization,” said Brian P. McGowan, President and CEO of Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. “As we build a BeltLine for all, this center will celebrate the experiences we’ve come to love about the BeltLine.”
The Atlanta BeltLine Center officially opens the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, April 28th and 29th and is free to the public. To facilitate attendance of Westside residents at the opening weekend celebration, ABP will offer free shuttle bus service on both days between the Center and KIPP Strive Elementary School. Details on the shuttle bus service can be found here in the days leading up to the event.
From 1:00 - 3:00 pm on both days of opening weekend, the Partnership will host a special celebration of their Supporter Perks program that provides donors with access to discounts and specials at a variety of Atlanta BeltLine businesses. Attendees who make a $25 contribution during these time periods will enjoy food and beverages from Bar Mercado, Varuni Napoli, Honeysuckle Gelato, Recess and King of Pops, Atlanta BeltLine-branded merchandise, and a full year of discounts at participating businesses.
The Center’s normal operating hours will be Monday – Friday, 4:00 – 8:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 am – 7:00 pm. Admission will be free. More information on the Center can be found at BeltLine.org/beltlinecenter.
ABP deeply appreciates The James M. Cox Foundation’s leadership support of the Atlanta BeltLine Center and additional major funding from Ponce City Market, PwC Charitable Foundation and MailChimp.
