Sixteen TiE Young Entrepreneurs and TYE University teams will compete for the cash prize at the TYE Finals being held at The Farm at The Battery on Saturday, April 21, 2018.

TYE, the signature youth entrepreneurship program of TiE Atlanta, works with high school and university students across Georgia. TiE is a local nonprofit that invents, invests in, and inspires entrepreneurs through mentoring, education, funding, and networking.

The high school programs kicks off every September, and brings together teams of high school students who are mentored and coached by business leaders to build their product or service. Since 2010, TYE High School has over 350 graduates, more than 100 engaged mentors, and placed 38 students in competitive internships.

To inspire innovation at the university level, TiE Atlanta also launched TYE University in 2013.

Additionally, TYE University supports teams and students across Georgia universities with coaches and mentors. In 2018, TYE University partnered with Georgia State University’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute to pair mentors with startups in order to win $20,000 and startup services at TYE Finals.

Since its inception, TYE University has brought together 55 teams, 150 students across 18 Georgia Universities, and 50 coaches and mentors over the past five years.

“Whether it is at the high school or university level, our mentors and coaches are really investing in our youth to invent the next generation of entrepreneurs,” said Amyn Sadruddin, TYE High School co-chair and program director of TiE Atlanta.
