Kennesaw State University is adding another location where students can pursue a master’s degree in business administration from the Michael J. Coles College of Business.

KSU will offer Master of Business Administration classes at the City Springs Complex in Sandy Springs beginning in the 2018-19 academic year. It will be the third location for a Coles College MBA, along with the Kennesaw State campus and the Cobb Galleria.

“We are very excited to serve the Sandy Springs market in the context of our MBA program,” said Kathy Schwaig, dean of the Coles College of Business. “The Chamber of Commerce and the leadership within the Sandy Springs community have enthusiastically welcomed us, and we are excited to start classes there in the fall.”

Kennesaw State and Sandy Springs leaders made the announcement Tuesday at the Sandy Springs Perimeter Chamber of Commerce luncheon. The groups worked together in recent months to develop the Sandy Springs MBA, after the Coles College committed to find a third metro Atlanta location to meet the demand for the program.

“City Springs was designed to bring people together in new and different ways, and to host an MBA program of Kennesaw State’s stature within the Sandy Springs community is a great addition,” Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul said.

Kennesaw State’s highly ranked, internationally accredited Master of Business Administration program is designed for working metro Atlanta professionals with busy schedules. Two MBA courses each will be offered once a week for six semesters in Sandy Springs for a total of 12 courses, meaning the degree can be completed in six semesters at the City Springs Complex.

“The Sandy Springs market offers a perfect fit for our MBA degree program,” said Amy Henley, executive director for MBA programs at Kennesaw State. “With a number of Fortune 500 corporate headquarters located in the heart of the city, this new location allows us to serve these graduate students in a convenient manner. They will have access to our relevant curriculum taught by outstanding faculty right where they live and work.”

The new MBA location is the second partnership between the Coles College of Business and the Sandy Springs Perimeter Chamber, along with a Mini MBA program being offered in Sandy Springs. The Mini MBA is a certificate program that meets for nine months and covers nine topics: strategic thinking, marketing, human resources, finance, data analytics, business models, innovation, change management and strategy implementation.

“The mini-MBA is a popular model nationally, and a perfect opportunity for individuals who might be considering an MBA in the future or for those who want to refresh their skills and explore new topics,” said Dan Stotz, executive director of executive education programs in the Coles College of Business. “The Coles College Mini MBA is taught by graduate-level faculty who have both extensive experience in classroom and in the corporate environment, making the program ideal for the corporate learner.”
