“Our country needs more of Ambassador Andrew Young’s grit and generosity of spirit. He possesses a rare talent and enormous strength of character to inspire, enlighten and engage many even those who disagree with one another. When asked at a national leadership conference how he persevered, Ambassador Young quickly replied, ‘I, like those who set the pace before me, have been tried and tempered by fire like steel. I bend but I do not break.’ There is no doubt that we need to follow Ambassador Young’s stellar example of a humble, tireless leader who demonstrates daily how we create the beloved community."
