Lincoln Property Company Southeast announced that Servidyne’s headquarters at Two Midtown Plaza has been recognized as a 2018 ENERGY STAR Charter Tenant Space by The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Lincoln handles property management and leasing at Midtown Plaza and worked in collaboration with Servidyne to certify the tenant space.

The ENERGY STAR Charter Tenant Space award is extended to tenants that meet energy efficiency criteria set by the EPA and verified by a licensed professional. Lincoln assisted Servidyne, a firm providing energy and sustainability consulting in the commercial and institutional building sector, in enabling submetering to provide visibility into the energy use in the leased tenant space.

“Congratulations to all the ENERGY STAR Charter Tenants for their hard work improving energy efficiency in tenant spaces,” said EPA Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation Bill Wehrum. “These organizations demonstrate how tenants and landlords can work together to cut energy costs and reduce waste, while creating a healthier environment.”

According to the EPA, commercial tenants play a critical role in the energy performance of the buildings they occupy, often accounting for the majority of energy use. Important barriers limit tenants’ incentive to pursue efficiency initiatives and engage with their landlords to advance building efficiency.

Nearly 50 tenant spaces across 15 states were identified in this year’s ENERGY STAR Charter Tenant Space announcement, representing large corporations with multiple leased spaces, small businesses with one leased space, and those in between. The program identifies organizations that lease space in multi-tenanted buildings, as well as building owners and managers who want to be ready to bring the new ENERGY STAR Tenant Space recognition to their tenants and customers.

“We are proud to work in collaboration with Servidyne to establish an energy efficient space at Midtown Plaza and help the EPA shine a light on the importance of efficiency in leased spaces,” said Lincoln’s Neschune Henry, senior property manager at Midtown Plaza.

Midtown Plaza is a two-building, Class A office complex offering unrivaled accessibility at its location at the intersection of Peachtree Street and 17th Street. Midtown Plaza also offers direct access to mass transit at the Arts Center MARTA Station. This property offers on-site amenities including a high-end conference center, fitness center, full service café, tenant lounge and an EV charging station. Both buildings at Midtown Plaza have achieved LEED Gold and ENERGY STAR certification.
