Dickey Broadcasting Company’s 680 The Fan is pleased to announce the winner of the Synovus “Here Matters” Field Makeover Contest. After much deliberation, the grand prize was awarded to Towers High School in Decatur, Georgia, for a makeover of the school’s softball field.

Throughout the month of June, 680 The Fan and Synovus accepted nominations of softball and baseball fields at accredited elementary, middle or high schools in the state Georgia. All eligible nominations were required to include a statement of 250 words or less explaining why their school deserved a ball field makeover.

"Sports are a vital part of life in every school and community, and we are thrilled to partner with 680 The Fan and Howard Brothers to refurbish the softball field at Towers High School," said Rob Garcia, Synovus division CEO for North Georgia.

The softball field makeover at Towers High School will take place on Wednesday, July 18. Howard Brothers will lead the project with the assistance of volunteers from 680 The Fan and Synovus.
