Aptos Recognized as a Leader in Point of Service
Friday, August 10th, 2018
Aptos, Inc., a recognized market leader in retail technology solutions, announced it has been named a Leader in the recently published, "The Forrester Wave: Point Of Service, Q3 2018."
The Forrester report identified the 13 most significant point of service vendors based on vendor surveys, executive presentations and customer references. Evaluations of the product road map, Tier 1 retail implementations and vision for the future of POS were also taken into consideration.
Following the extensive evaluation, Aptos was one of only four vendors to be designated as a "Leader." Aptos received the highest possible score in the criteria of:
Line items, kits, and combinations
According to Forrester, "Aptos capitalizes on its deep specialty retail experience" and "offers impressive core POS capabilities. [Aptos'] strong foundation reflects its long experience and significant user base, especially among demanding larger specialty retailers."
Forrester also noted Aptos' "much broader geographic base" and that it is a best fit for "specialty and apparel retailers aiming for international expansion" as a result of the company demonstrating significant progress since its spin-off from Epicor Software in 2015.
Known for its robustness, reliability, user experience, international compliance and omni-channel capabilities, the Aptos Store point of sale solution is deployed at more than 130,000 retail locations in 55 countries.
Retailers such as Titan, Poundland & Dealz, Tapestry, WSS, J. McLaughlin, Avante Textil, and Oasis, Warehouse and Coast publicly announced their selection and/or deployment of Aptos Store in the past year, adding to Aptos' impressive roster of more than 300 retail brands leveraging Aptos' POS software worldwide.
In addition to significant momentum in customer wins and deployments, Aptos also introduced Aptos ONE, a cloud-native, microservices-based platform that helps retailers deploy enterprise class software in a modular way that supports seamless experiences across channels, mobile or fixed, while providing serverless local deployment and device resilience.
According to Forrester, a highly effective POS application "exploits containerization and microservices to distribute functionality and data for fast response and local resilience. Further, it shares enterprise insight and engagement, so eCommerce order management and POS deliver a seamless personalized experience to customers."
"Our focus has always been helping retailers to create seamless experiences that enhance loyalty, and we're not afraid to disrupt ourselves to ensure our POS architecture and capabilities remain at the forefront of the industry," said Aptos CEO and culture leader Noel Goggin.
"With a POS heritage that extends over four decades, Aptos offers our customers unrivaled leadership and innovation in point of sale software," said Goggin. "We are proud to be recognized as a Leader in the Forrester POS Wave at a time when retailers require POS partners to be agile and to support personalized experiences and integrated journeys."
