Kennesaw State University President Pamela Whitten has appointed Jeff Delaney as chief information officer, effective August 6.

Delaney, who has been serving as the University’s interim chief information officer since February, will be responsible for the strategic vision of the University Information Technology Services division, forecasting and analyzing institutional needs and appropriate IT resource allocations and alignment.

“As interim CIO, Jeff has demonstrated his ability to lead a team and deliver results-oriented technology solutions,” said Whitten. “His professionalism and vision are assets that will continue to serve our students, faculty and staff.”

Delaney has more than two decades of experience in technology leadership for higher education, including positions as the associate vice chancellor for Information Technology Services with the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, and as Savannah State University’s chief information officer.

“It has been a pleasure meeting so many passionate students and team members and seeing firsthand the dedication we share in the growth and excellence of the institution,” Delaney said. “I look forward to working with our students, faculty and staff as we strive to make Kennesaw State the best place to learn.”

Delaney earned his doctoral degree in executive management in higher education from the University of Georgia, a master’s degree in information systems management from Georgia College & State University, and a bachelor’s degree in information systems from the University of Maryland.
