The founding principals of Kuo Diedrich Architects and Chi Design Group have merged to form Kuo Diedrich Chi, a full-service, international architecture and design firm that creates design solutions for club, resort, mixed-use, retail and residential clients. The firm created a new brand, launched a new website at and almost doubled the size of its Midtown Atlanta office space.

Kuo Diedrich Chi is an internationally-recognized leader known for next-generation thinking to address complex design needs with creative, functional and enjoyable lifestyle solutions that exceed client goals. The firm’s most recent national award comes from Golf Inc.’s Clubhouse of the Year, where they received second place in the Private Club Renovation category for Lake Toxaway Country Club in Lake Toxaway, North Carolina.

After working closely together for more than 25 years on successful club, resort and mixed-use projects, Kuo Diedrich Chi will use its collective expertise to solve the design challenges of clients through a client-centric, collaborative process that addresses current and future lifestyle needs and incorporates specific end-user desires. For example, Kuo Diedrich Chi is creating solutions to help today’s golf resorts attract young families and millennials with innovative designs that focus on a variety of activities beyond golf and feature more integrated, family-friendly spaces.

The company has recently hired additional team members and relocated its corporate headquarters from the first floor at 730 Peachtree Street in the heart of Midtown Atlanta to the third floor, almost doubling its space..

As part of the merger, the firm has launched a new brand, including a new logo and website that distinctly reflects the style of each of the founding partners.

The three principals graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Howard Kuo and Mark Diedrich launched Kuo Diedrich in 2002, while John “JC” Chi founded Chi Design Group. Over the past 25 years, Kuo Diedrich Chi’s principals have worked on hundreds of high-profile, luxury projects, including Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania, East Lake Golf Club in Georgia, The Els Club in Dubai, Ecopark in Hanoi, Vietnam, The Golf Club of Georgia, Boothbay Harbor Country Club in Maine, Nine Dragons Resort in Shanghai, China, Dowling at the Park in Atlanta, The Boulevard at Central Station in Illinois and Callaway Gardens in Georgia.
