Less than six months from President Trump's withdrawal of the United States from the United Nations Human Rights Council, UN Ambassador Nikki Haley submitted her resignation.  The widening human rights gap created at the level of United Nations from these actions has Georgia U.S. Senate Candidate Al Bartell issue the following public statement:

"Our President has withdrawn our human rights commitment to the United Nations.  That does not mean America has withdrawn its human rights commitment to the UN.

"A communication from our nation deserves to be delivered.  There is no better time to communicate this to the world than Dec. 10th, 2018 World Human Rights Day."

UN Ambassador Haley announced the withdrawal of the United States from the UN Human Rights Council on June 19th, 2018, one month from the body's vote to probe killings of Palestinians in Gaza.

Zeid Ra'ad al-Hussein, the UN high commissioner for human rights, responded at the time, ""Given the state of human rights in today's world, the US should be stepping up, not stepping back."

During Sunday's CNN interview on "Fareed Zakaria GPS", Former Secretary of State Colin Powell warned, "it's become 'Me the President' as opposed to 'We the People' ."

Powell went on to state:

"This is a country that we reach out to each other, and we reach out to the rest of the world, And the rest of the world is expecting that of us, and they're seeing less and less of it."

Bartell is convening a World Human Rights Network that will be organizing a news conference Dec.10th at the Georgia State Capitol's Liberty Plaza on World Human Rights Day.
