The addition of several new team members within the last year has doubled the size of Lawrenceville, Ga.-based InsuranceHub’s commercial transportation division. Tasked with providing  affordable commercial transportation insurance and strategic advisement to an ever-expanding base within the tow truck and trucking trade, the transportation division was initially launched in October 2016. Ever since then, InsuranceHub’s newest division has been well-received by both existing and new clients – prompting the need for a larger, specialized staff.

“We’ve always had transportation accounts, but now with our niche focus over the last two years and adding a number of skilled new specialists into the transportation department including both the sales and service teams, we have seen exponential growth,” said Ed Hemmer, Associate Vice President of Transportation at InsuranceHub. “The transportation sector has been hit hard with massive insurance rate increases year over year.  Our strategy has been to find the right carrier partners that can offer competitive coverage and pricing to our clients. Transportation made up about 10-15% of our new business just 3 years ago and it is now 40-50%.  All of our departments are growing, but transportation is growing the fastest.”

Hemmer went on to explain how the division he leads raises the bar on an unsurpassed client experience, “Each producer takes the time to understand the trucker’s business before providing any quotes to make sure the requested and suggested coverages are accurate to that trucker’s business. Each trucker and trucker’s business is unique and the coverages that they require to operate must aligned accurately.  Producers review the company’s SMS (Safety Measurement System) and SAFER report to provide feedback on their Department of Transportation activity and make suggestions if needed to help the trucker’s business.  InsuranceHub offers MC (Motor Carrier) monitoring at zero additional cost to the trucker. All producers are currently enrolled in MCIEF’s (Motor Carrier Insurance Education Foundation) Transportation Risk Specialist (TRS) designation curicullum.  The TRS designation provides the expert skills needed to advise, assist, and insured the transportation industry.”
