Rockefeller Capital Management today announced that Justin Ryan and Tom Epperson have joined the Firm as the first private wealth advisors in Rockefeller’s new Atlanta office. Ryan and Epperson oversee assets totaling $1.4 billion and $800 million, respectively, and have joined the Firm as Managing Directors from UBS Private Wealth Management.

“Justin and Tom are two of Atlanta’s top private wealth professionals and trusted advisors to a number of the area’s most successful families,” said Gregory J. Fleming, President & CEO of Rockefeller Capital Management. “They exemplify the kind of integrity-driven, high-quality advisors that we want to attract in markets across the country.”

Before joining Rockefeller, Ryan spent nearly 10 years with UBS Private Wealth Management in Atlanta as a Managing Director, Senior Portfolio Manager and Pinnacle Council member working with a select number of clients on investment strategy, asset allocation, risk management and alternative investment selection. Before UBS, Ryan spent almost six years with Smith Barney’s private client division in Atlanta. He started his career in 1999 with PwC’s Financial Advisory Services division in Atlanta, and also spent more than three years in San Francisco with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, now part of Credit Suisse. Ryan is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and received his CPM from Columbia University.

Like Ryan, Epperson serves a limited number of clients and focuses on advising private business owners. He previously spent a decade with UBS Private Wealth Management as a Managing Director, Private Wealth Advisor and Pinnacle Council member. Epperson joined UBS in 2008 from Lehman Brothers, where he started his career in wealth management in 1998. He also worked as a Director of Business Development at United States Surgical Corporation from 1991-1998. Epperson graduated from the University of Alabama.

The addition of Ryan and Epperson in Atlanta is the latest expansion for the Firm. Rockefeller intends to continue hiring select teams and advisors in offices across the country, seeking those who serve ultra-wealthy clients with comprehensive services for their complex needs.
