Monday, February 11th, 2019
It wasn’t just football fans that enjoyed activities during Super Bowl LIII week in Atlanta. Atlanta children of all ages that have a passion for technology received a day off from school as they enjoyed 50 hands-on exhibits and interactive experience at the STEM WARS eSports Bowl for Super Bowl LIII.
Friday, February 1st, 700 students from 10 middle schools and high schools from across the Atlanta School District was bussed to the Andrew & Walter Young Family YMCA at 9 am and spent the entire day learning, playing and enjoying the art of drones, robotics and eSports. There were over 20 vendors from Atlanta making the day a huge success but the vendors making an impact were STEM WARS, Pharaoh’s Conclave, Idea Farm Academy, Cellbotics, eBallers League, Red Tails Aerial Network, Paili Proto 3D Printing, Freeze Cream and Hubert’s Lemonade. Helping us celebrate with the kids was former Baltimore Ravens player, Stevie Baggs and former NY Giants player, Chuck Wiley.
In addition to the fun, the children were able to meet with 2 local stand out teens that are making their mark in Technology all over the world. Madison Kenney of RoboChicks, is a 15 year old girl teaching other young girls how to build and race robots out of the Andrew & Walter Young Family YMCA. The other tech star is BlueTactic, a 14 year old boy that is excelling as a Pro-Gamer in eSports, a Billion Dollar Industry, and competing with other Professional eSports Athletes all over the world.
Downtown Hott Radio stopped by not only to cover our event, they had the opportunity to sit down and speak with Madison and BlueTactic. Here are their interviews:
