Providence Bank Sends Support to Alpharetta Historic Project

Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO

Recently, Alpharetta Old Milton County Historical Society and Providence Bank teamed up to support the Log Cabin restoration project. The Cabin was built during the 1934-1935 school year on the Old Milton High School property by the Future Farmers of America (FFA). It is one of only two remaining FFA-constructed log cabins still in use today in the United States. To make way for a new Fulton County STEM high school, the Log Cabin was moved to future park property at 210 Milton Avenue across the street from the new school.

“Just as our community came together in the 1930s to help the FFA students construct the Log Cabin, it once again came together to save it. Thanks are due to the City of Alpharetta, the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau, Councilman Donald Mitchell, the construction team, and the many individual donors like Providence Bank without whom the Log Cabin could not have been saved,” said AOMCHS President Pat Miller.

“Providence Bank is a community bank and these types of local projects are exactly what we want to support and be a part of,” said Providence Bank President and CEO Brad Serff. “We’re happy to provide assistance for this project and can’t wait to see it completed in the near future.
