Eleven Georgia State College of Arts & Sciences Alumni Honored As 40 Under 4

Eleven College of Arts & Sciences alumni are among the honorees named by the Georgia State University Alumni Association to its 2019 class of distinguished alumni under the age of 40.

The 40 Under 40 program, in its second year, recognizes and honors the most influential and innovative graduates who embody the values of Georgia State University and the college.

The College of Arts & Sciences graduates who are members of the Georgia State Alumni Association 40 Under 40 Class of 2019 are:

Donnie Davis (B.A. ’02, Journalism) is the principal at Peachtree Charter Middle School and a former member of Georgia State Panthers men’s basketball team.

Shalya Forte (B.A. ’04, Journalism) is the Director of the Southeast U.S. division of Pandora Internet Radio

Sonyja George (B.A. ’02 Political Science) is an associate magistrate judge for Clayton County.

Erinn King (B.A. ’12, Speech) works in executive communication for Delta Airlines. Her duties include speech writing, social media and internal media strategy .

Almeera Jiwa-Pratt (B.A. ’13, Journalism) is  an Associate Content Manager at LinkedIn, curating online learning courses for business skills.

Bhavi Patel (B.A. ’08, Political Science and Religious Studies ) is the V.P. of Operations for the insurance company Campus Benefits. She is also the president of Georgia State’s Young Alumni Council.

Alaina Percival (B.I.S. ’02, International Studies) is the CEO and Board Chair of the technology nonprofit Women Who Code.

Josh Sanders  (B.A. ’13, Spanish) is a manager for PricewaterhouseCoopers, focused on capital markets accounting advisory services.

Chantel Soverall (B.A. ’04, Journalism) is the North American Inclusion and Diversity Recruiting Manager for global management and consulting firm Accenture, responsible for developing strategies and initiatives to help attract and retain diverse talent to the company.

Christopher Upperman (B.A. ’09, Sociology) is the CEO of Envolve Entrepreneurship, a multinational 501(c)(3) organization committed to cultivating entrepreneurial ecosystems.

Elizabeth Weaver (B.S. ’05, Biology) is the Associate Director for Brains & Behavior program at Georgia State. Her duties include supporting both the Brains and Behavior program as well as the Neuroscience Institute.

The Georgia State Alumni Association will celebrate the 40 Under 40 Class of 2019 at an awards ceremony and reception on March 28 at The Fairmont, 1429 Fairmont Ave., NW.
