Taylor English Duma LLP is pleased to expand its presence in the Chicago legal market with the addition of Robert Johnson as a partner in the firm’s corporate practice group.
 
Prior to joining Taylor English, Johnson served as a partner and chief diversity partner and inclusion officer at a national, multi-disciplined law firm.

Johnson has more than 25 years of experience providing management and consulting services to corporate departments, focusing on various matters involving risk assessment and reduction. He has experience in the areas of real estate and contract negotiations and regularly advises on issues addressing diversity and social responsibility.
 
Johnson previously served as the franchise relations officer for McDonald’s Corporation Central Division. During his tenure at McDonald’s, he served as managing counsel and was responsible for oversight and management of the Workers’ Compensation Program for all domestic corporate owned restaurants. Johnson advised on customer claims and crisis management for multiple markets, including Europe, Asia and Latin America. Notably, he was a member of McDonald’s Diversity and Inclusion faculty and frequently traveled across the United States to address diversity issues, instruct on career development and intercultural learning.
 
Johnson’s work throughout the legal profession and the community has resulted in numerous honors and awards. He is a recipient of the Chicago United Business Leaders of Color Award and the Council on Legal Educational Opportunity Legacy Diversity Award.
 
Johnson serves on the executive advisory board of the National Urban League’s Black Executive Exchange Program and is a board member of the Common Ground Foundation, an organization working to empower high school students from under-served communities to become future leaders.
 
Johnson earned his undergraduate degree from Knox College and his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law.
