"Uber of Moving," Bellhops, Opens Second Office in Atlanta and is Looking to Hire Tech and Operational Talent

Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO

Thursday, June 20th, 2019

Bellhops is excited to announce we have officially opened our second office in Atlanta's Atlantic Station.

Quick Highlights:

  • Location: BB&T building in Atlantic Station (the former Pandora office). As a logistics & technology company, proximity to the Atlanta tech village and Georgia Tech made the location an ideal spot for our second office.

  • Building the team for expansion: We’ve hired an exceptional team: Luke Marklin (former Uber GM) as our CEO, Wendy Wood (formerly of Sweetgreen and Starbucks) as our VP of People and Places, and Peter Hsu (formerly of Uber Eats) as our COO.

  • Total Number of Employees that will be in this office: ~50 (currently 30) though this number does not include the individuals who work on our platform as movers and drivers. The majority of positions will be in engineering and analytics, helping to further expand our logistics technology platform. There are some positions posted now on our careers page, but we will be posting more in the coming weeks.

  • People are moving in Atlanta: Out of our 50+ cities nationwide, Atlanta is the busiest. We have doubled our growth in the past 12 months. This office-opening coincides with our continued expansion across the nation at a rate of around three cities per month. Because of this, the number of positions in Atlanta will increase as we continue to expand.

  • Movers and Drivers: We are looking for 100 more movers and drivers to join our platform in the Atlanta area.

Additional Details: After receiving seed funding, the company has acquired more than $50 million in venture capital from firms such as Advanced Venture Partners, Canaan Partners, Lowercase Capital, and Initialized Capital. Other investors include Silicon Valley Bank, Scott Banister, and rapper Nas.
