Paint Love, Inc., an Atlanta-based nonprofit with a mission of bringing extraordinary arts programming to youth facing poverty and trauma, raised $20,246 at its third annual Artist Challenge fundraiser on June 22, surpassing the organization’s $20,000 fundraising goal.

The fundraiser, hosted at the Penthouse of The Met in Atlanta’s artistic West End neighborhood, featured six local artists who raced against the clock to complete a painting in just three hours. This year’s artists included Angie Jerez, Austin Blue, Catlanta, Kat Stockton, Lindsay Ryden and Sanithna Phansavah.

More than 150 attendees were challenged to donate in order to help artists “unlock” the supplies needed to finish the artwork from brushes to spray paint to mid-painting snacks. The event also featured a silent auction with prize packages sponsored by metro Atlanta businesses. The money raised at this year’s Artist Challenge will be used to accept new programming partners for the fall and complete ongoing Paint Love programming, including projects with Camp PEACE, New American Pathways and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
