“We are overwhelmed with the amount of support our Atlanta Division customers and associates have shown for our U.S. troops during this year’s round up,” said Felix Turner, corporate affairs manager for Kroger’s Atlanta Division, which includes Georgia, Eastern Alabama and South Carolina. “Every year, we look forward to working with the USO to show our deep gratitude to our active troops and our nation’s 23 million veterans.”

Additionally, Kroger presented the USO with a $1 million donation as a part of the company’s Honoring Our Heroes campaign, an initiative that demonstrates Kroger’s commitment to veterans, service members and their families. The check presentation was made at this year’s culinary event at Fort Stewart that brought together teams from Kroger, the USO and Robert Irvine Foods to entertain 1,500 troops and their families.

“More than two million Americans serve on active duty or in the reserves today, including many Kroger associates.Since 2011, Kroger customers and associates in the Atlanta Division have raised more than $2 million through the annual USO Round-Up and Honoring Our Heroes campaigns to provide financial support to our country’s heroes,” Turner said.
