Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Que, a Birmingham-originated chain of locally-owned barbecue restaurants, has announced a new “Curbside To-Go” service as well as heightened sanitation practices and an improved drive-thru experience to increase speed and accuracy. The new measures are in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and take effect immediately in the majority of its 41 locations in seven states.

“As our communities tackle the enormous challenges of the outbreak of coronavirus, there is no greater responsibility than the safety and wellbeing of our guests and team members,” says Jim ‘N Nick’s CEO Larry Ryback. “The new measures we have implemented are our best effort to help prevent the spread of this virus and includes going the extra mile on cleaning and sanitation, an enhanced Drive Thru experience to offer guests the same great Bar-B-Q with greater speed and accuracy, and a new Curbside To-Go service.”

As more and more restaurant dining rooms close throughout the country, drive thru and curbside to-go are plausible solutions to serving communities while limiting person-to-person contact. The team at Jim ‘N Nick’s has established a format that will maximize the use of both drive thru and a call ahead/drive up approach that maintains protocols around social distancing and good hygiene.

“ Our communities face the burden of putting food on the table every day during a time of crisis,” adds Ryback. “We want to be there for them by giving them access to great food while promoting health and safety to the best of our ability.”
